About House for Us

An independent publishing & storytelling project

House for Us was born from a simple idea: some of the most compelling stories emerge where personal lives collide with political decisions, hidden loyalties and unresolved memories.

Rather than following a single genre, House for Us is interested in atmosphere-driven fiction with a strong sense of place — stories that move between countries, languages and moments of European history that still echo today.

The project currently focuses on multilingual editions of its own titles, developed through close collaboration with native literary editors and translators. Over time, House for Us also aims to become a space for other international voices whose stories deserve to travel across borders.

Historical fiction
Stories rooted in real events, real tensions and real places — told through human lives.
Moral complexity
Characters who know more than they reveal. Decisions with no clean answers.
International reach
Each title published in multiple languages, with careful attention to translation and editing.
European memory
Episodes of European history that are often overlooked — and still unresolved.

Das unsichtbare Abkommen

Stille zwischen den Kriegen

Madrid, 1939. A prominent doctor is found dead on the banks of the Manzanares. The case is closed in 48 hours. One suspect. One weapon. One motive. Everything fits — perhaps too well.

Madrid, 1975. Memories that suddenly sound different. Until something shifts everything. And the truth becomes another truth entirely.

A historical noir novel about guilt, loyalty and secrets that survive decades — with twists that reframe everything.

Pedro Pérez-Iruela

Author & Founder

As a reader, Pedro has always been drawn to crime fiction and true crime — stories where nothing is quite what it seems, and where the truth, when it finally arrives, reframes everything you thought you knew.

As a writer, he wanted to explore a period of Spanish history that rarely gets the attention it deserves: the months between the end of the Civil War and the beginning of World War II. Spain was exhausted, broken, and caught between two worlds — making decisions in the shadows that nobody wanted to talk about afterwards.

After three decades in management consulting, he found in writing the necessary counterpoint to the rationality of his professional life. He lives in Madrid.
